A new poll shows that the majority of American adults believe that artificial intelligence harms education more. According to this poll, 53 percent of adults believe that artificial intelligence causes more harm than benefit.
Public Attitude Towards Artificial Intelligence in Education
A recent poll indicates that 54 percent of respondents believe that artificial intelligence also causes more harm in universities. Only 27 percent of adults believe that artificial intelligence has more benefits in education. This sentiment is similarly observed regarding universities, where 24 percent believe that artificial intelligence has more benefits.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms
Regarding whether schools should use artificial intelligence tools in the classroom, 44 percent of respondents believe that schools can better prepare students by integrating artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, 56 percent believe that schools that prohibit the use of artificial intelligence can better prepare students for the future. This data shows significant changes compared to previous polls.
The poll also shows that 49 percent of adults find the use of artificial intelligence for editing and proofreading acceptable. While 41 percent believe that its use for research and brainstorming is also acceptable. Only 7 percent of respondents believe that using artificial intelligence to write school content is appropriate.
The issue of using artificial intelligence in classrooms has been heavily debated in many districts and universities across the United States. Parents and educational activists have concerns about the negative impact of this technology on students' academic growth, and some school districts have imposed restrictions in this regard. For example, New York City has announced that the use of artificial intelligence for students will be limited until high school.
Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, recently stated that students need hands-on experience with artificial intelligence as this technology will impact their future. She emphasized that students must be taught how to use this technology to stay ahead.
