Trump conducted this conversation while Huang had the call on speakerphone. He stated during the session that the United States must outpace China in innovation and AI development. Trump said, "Robots do not control. AI will not control. This whole thing is a hoax." He also added that critics of this technology only act in favor of those who do not want these advancements to happen, including politicians and China.

Trump's Support for Data Centers and AI Development
Trump referred to data centers, which are not politically popular, calling them "great" and stating that these centers bring wealth to people and states. He emphasized, "This is the oil of the next 20 to 25 years and will be bigger than the internet and AI." During this call, Trump said he assumes Huang agrees with him on AI development, and Huang confirmed this. He told Trump, "We will ensure that everyone wins in the AI competition in America. Every industry, every company, every state, and every individual."
This conversation took place as many AI leaders have called for a slowdown in the development of this technology. The CEO of Anthropic, Dario Amodei, has written in an article that AI development needs more safeguards. This issue was quickly endorsed by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. Additionally, former President Barack Obama has urged Democrats to prioritize the development of an AI program.
However, Trump has firmly defended his support for AI development. In several social media posts on Monday, he described concerns about AI as a "sick conspiracy theory" and a "hoax." While Trump was talking with Huang, a source familiar with the matter told the media that a meeting between Trump and AI industry leaders is being planned, although no specific time has been set for it.
