Fetterman, who was elected as a senator in 2022, has gradually distanced himself from his party. This distancing is primarily due to his strong support for Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He frequently appears as a guest on Fox News programs and readily criticizes the left-wing members of the Democratic Party. These actions and positions have drawn significant attention to Fetterman as a Democrat, but if he joins the Republicans, this attention will sharply decline.

Rumors and Polls
Fetterman sparked rumors in mid-July when he hinted that he might turn his back on the Democratic Party if it officially moves towards an anti-Israel stance. He also introduced his friend, Senator David McCormick, in a video presented at the Republican moderate conference in Dallas. After this event, Fetterman issued a statement saying that if the Democrats gain control of the Senate in the November elections, he will not change the party in any way.
In a recent New York Times/Philadelphia Inquirer/Siena poll, Fetterman faced a sharp decline in support from Democrats, with only 22% of Democrats supporting him, down from 74% in May 2024. However, his support among Pennsylvania Republicans has also significantly increased.
Fetterman remained silent in response to questions about a new account on platform X that is reportedly run by his former staff and has taken a stance against him. He also did not respond to a recent Wall Street Journal report indicating his lack of interest in fulfilling his senatorial duties. Meanwhile, McCormick defended Fetterman, describing these reports as examples of disloyalty and attempts by leftist forces to remove Fetterman.
